Before we were introduced, we went to the pastor's house and talked with him and his wife for quite a while. We got to know each other a bit more. They're super nice people and very encouraging. Then we went to the church. We were told to not expect many people.
After dinner, Alex was asked to come up to the front where the congregation, including the youth (about 15-20 showed up), were encouraged to ask him questions whether it be about his leadership style, what he thought about missions, mac v PC, really any kind of question was allowed.
Alex did a fantastic job answering the questions. A lot of people in the congregation nodded their heads to his answers. I sat with a group of girls and the two in front of me were fist bumping after nearly ever answer. The people seem to like him!
On Sunday, Alex (and I) will be introduced to the church and Alex will be asked to give his testimony. He will also have to teach a Sunday school class where the elders, pastors, youth, parents, and whoever else will be sitting in to listen. He'll do great.
God really opened up doors for Alex. He's going to grow so much in many ways. I'm excited to see what else is in store for us!
