The Vacation

We've been on vacation!

The last time I wrote was less than a week or so before we left. We flew down to Chicago where my mom and Shelly dropped of a car, we jumped in the car, and drove to Holland. We saw a couple friends there at the Brewery.
Graham, Alex, Mari Jo, Emily, and I at the Brewery!
The next day we went to campus and I got to see some of my professors. It was great talking to them for a while, catching up and sharing life. Nancy was my advisor and my student teaching "over-seer". Jane was in charge of the Rosebud Reservation May term trip. Both have been great influences in my life.

We ate lunch at 8th Street. Alex was thrilled about this. We went there often for their soup bar. It was great when it was cold out! Afterwards, we walked around, went into a couple of shops, and ran into some friends.
Alex and I at the Hope Anchor
In the afternoon, we drove back home and hung out with my family. We've done a lot of eating and sitting and talking. Saturday night we went to church and hung out with others from church. Friday we went to the Art Institute and Millennium Park to hear "Carmina Burana".  Sunday, we had a family get together.
My favorite piece- "The Bedroom" by Van Gogh
The Grant Park Choir and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra playing Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana" in Millenium Park.
Shawna, a friend since first grade, and her husband stopped by to say hi!
My cousin Christian loved hanging out with Alex!
Now, we're in southern Missouri with Alex's family. Today we went to Silver Dollar City in Branson. It was really hot. Other than that, we had a lot of fun.

The hearing for the assault is on July 10. I haven't really thought about it since a week or so before we left. And that's a good thing.
