The Gardens

As stated in previous posts, Alex is a youth pastor and I teach students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. Part of our job responsibilities is to teach the younger generation morals, and doing what is right.

This being said, when we found out that Hudson Gardens was closed last night, what did we do?

Hop the fence, of course!

For my Illinois people, Hudson Gardens is a mix between Ravinia and Chicago Botanic Gardens. They have concerts and weddings there all the time. The flower gardens are spectacular too. At least, that's what we were told.

The evening we chose to check it out was, of course, the Friday evening when there were two weddings going on. So, the gardens were closed. We live right next door to the Gardens. I don't know why we waited that long to go visit!

Regardless, over the fence we went, and even though we didn't stay that long, we saw some beautiful flowers!

Our first stop was the Rose Garden.

Anyways, beside toy train stations, there were many more flowers. And these were HUGE!

Most of them were as big as our heads!

These were the coolest flowers there!

Aren't these the flowers that turn into lions in Alice in Wonderland?

We got pretty hungry so we hopped the fence out of there and walked over to the biker bar which is right next door. Alex was pretty excited about his burger. Apparently, it was Jack Daniels' birthday so we got free cake too!
